FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 29 October 2011 – The 2011 memorable SuperMoto racing season came to its end with the final round disputed last weekend at the French circuit of Cahors.
This year as well has been very exciting, each round was a surprising one and after having been wondering for so long who could have been the top three Champs of the UEM European series, the stars were finally revealed.
Next year the best racers of the S1 class could be joined in the World Championship adventure by the three protagonists of the European series: winner Teo Monticelli, Pavel Kejmar and Alessandro Tognaccini.
The three strongest riders of the Open category received a 3.000 euro cheque each, as the French round was over, and this will allow them to take part in the 2012 World Championship without paying the entry fee.
Last season the European Title went to Uros Nastran, the Slovenian rider who has been racing in the S1 class this year, and also 2nd classified Fabrizio Bartolini switched to the World campaign while 3rd classified Teo Monticelli preferred to focused on the European series and his efforts were well rewarded this year.
