Poznan (Poland) 16 July 2016 – At the circuit of Tor Poznan the fourth round of the S1GP and S2 Championship is held this weekend. After a few days of bad and cold weather conditions the crowd enjoyed the practices in sunny and warmer conditions. In S1GP it was the French World Champion and current leader Thomas Chareyre who set the fastest time in the Superchrono. In S2 it was Italian rider Diego Monticelli who was the fastest on his factory TM.
In the first free practice on the racetrack of Poznan of the S1GP class it was TM Factory Racing rider Thomas Chareyre who set the fastest time (01:01.416) in lap 15 with a gap of only 00.282 seconds to Degasoline Motorsport rider Marc-Reiner Schmidt. Third place on the fast racetrack was for MTR KTM rider Pavel Kejmar. Fastest time in the second free practice was also for the Frenchman Thomas Chareyre. This time it was Husqvarna rider Lukas Höllbacher who signed for the second fastest time, only 00.292 seconds behind Chareyre. In third position this session it was Degasoline Motorsport rider Marc-Rider Schmidt with a time of 01:01.456. Under sunny conditions the riders started the time practice. Marc-Reiner Schmidt showed that had found the speed and won the timed practice before Thomas Chareyre and Pavel Kejmar, who both set the exact same times at only 00.024 seconds behind Marc-Reiner Schmidt. In the Superchrono session the best 6 riders of the time practice in the S1GP class started for their 10 minute timed session. Again it was Thomas Chareyre who took the pole-position for the fourth time this World Championship season. With a laptime of 1:00.683 in lap 5 Chareyre set the fastest time of the day in Poznan. Marc-Reiner Schmidt tried very hard to beat the current World Champion but couldn’t get close enough and finished this session in second place with a gap a 00.205 seconds. MTR KTM rider Pavel Kejmar had some engine troubles in the beginning of the session but managed to set the third time making the top three complete.

The leader of the 2016 S2 European championship, Suzuki Grau rider Petr Vorlicek started his race weekend perfectly with the fastest time on the final lap in the first free practice in the S2 class. Behind the Czech rider it was his fellow countryman TMS Honda rider Milan Sitniansky who set the second fastest time 00.430 seconds behind Vorlicek. Third place was for Gazza Racing rider Luca Ciaglia in this first session. Diego Monticelli and Giovanni Bussei were placed back ten positions because of disrespecting the red crossed medical flag. After his race win in Busca TM Factory Racing rider Diego Monticelli showed he was still in the winning mood and learned from his mistake in the first session. With a time of 1:02.272 in lap 21 the Italian rider was the fastest in the second free practice before Suzuki Grau rider Petr Vorlicek who followed on 00.378 seconds. For Giovanni Bussei Poznan was the return in the S2 class after his injury, in free practice two he set the third fastest time and showed his was still there to fight for every position. In the afternoon under sunny conditions it was time for the timed practice session. Again it was TM rider Diego Monticelli who was fastest with a lap time of 1:02.272 in lap 18 of the session. It was not an easy win as Giovanni Bussei was the whole session within tenths of a second behind Monticelli. At the end of the session he had to settle for second with a difference of 00.055 seconds. Behind the two Italian riders TMS Honda rider Milan Sitniansky set the third time and completed the first start row in the S2 class.
