Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) 2 April 2016 – Under sunny skies defending S1GP World Champion Thomas Chareyre set the fastest time and will start the S1GP of Spain at Jerez from pole position on Sunday as he seeks a successful defence of his crown.
In S2 it was Petr Vorlicek who set the pace but with the top five separated by less than one second, S2 looks like it will be a real eye catcher in 2016.
In Free Practice TM Factory Thomas Chareyre set the early pace, edging out 2015 S2 European Champion Marc Reiner-Schmidt and Lukas Hollbacher.
The same trio were fastest again in Free Practice 2 but the advantage of TC4 was reduced.
In Timed Practice KTM MTR Pavel Kejmar arrived from out if nowhere to leave Chareyre in 2nd with HUSQVARNA Hollbacher 3rd ahead of the Spaniard SUZUKI GRAU David Gimenez, with TM Degasoline Schmidt back in 5th. But they were all safe in the knowledge that they were all through to Superchrono, with APRILIA Fast Wheels Asseri Kingelin taking the final spot.
In Superchrono then, it was Chareyre who responded to set the fastest time of the day, half a second quicker than Kejmar. Joining them on the front row is Schmidt with row two headed up by Hollbacher, Gimenez and Kingelin.
